Building Empathy through Conversation

Story Exchange is an activity for two people to share their stories of origin and immigration with one another.

The free and printable placemat folds into a half sheet booklet with instructions to guide the conversation. It also folds out into a sheet where you can document your response.

You can also complete Story Exchange digitally through a shared Google slide. You can make a copy of the slides and edit them on your own Google Drive.

Upon completing a Story Exchange, we invite you to share it with others. Each participant should sign a media release and either scan or photograph both sides of the completed document. E-mail completed releases to Kevin Yang at kyang@tpt.org. Your Story Exchange will then be featured on our Facebook and Instagram and Story Collection.
